Gateway Longview's Adopt An Angel Campaign Seeking To Partner With The Community This Holiday Season

Updated: Oct 28, 2020

Buffalo, NY – Gateway Longview, celebrating its 130th year of protecting, enriching and giving hope to the WNY community, is seeking individuals, businesses, universities, and church-groups to participate in their annual Adopt-An-Angel gift drive.

Gateway Longview’s annual “Adopt-an-Angel” program partners with the community to provide Christmas gifts to fulfill wish lists and emergency needs for at-risk children and families within Gateway Longview’s care.

This year, in light of COVID-19, Gateway Longview is seeking additional community involvement to help meet the needs of making Christmas wishes come true for hundreds of at-risk children. Last year alone, 40 organizations partnered with Gateway Longview to create nearly 1,000 gifts that were distributed across Western New York.

“We’re always amazed at the enthusiasm that our individual and organizational partners have for this event every year,” said Carolyne DeFranco, President and CEO of Gateway Longview. “The impact these gifts make on our youth cannot be overstated. This year, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for these gifts is even greater.”

To participate in this year’s campaign, Gateway Longview is seeking the donation of gift cards, which will be used to purchase the wish list items. Due to COVID-19 concerns, purchasing gifts, the norm for previous year’s drives, is discouraged. To sign up and register as a donor, the public is being asked to fill out a form on Gateway Longview’s website.

“When you Adopt-An-Angel, you’re giving the gift of hope to children, teenagers, and young adults in need during the holiday season,” said Gary Rouleau, V.P of Foundation and Organization Advancement of Gateway Longview.

“Our goal is to continue this tradition while being mindful of the health and safety of our community.”
