The New View Alliance Development and Mission Advancement Department is a combined department of the Gateway Longview Foundation and the New Directions Youth and Family Services Foundation providing support for Development, Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, & Advancement. New View Alliance is the Parent organization of Gateway Longview and New Directions Youth and Family Services.

The New View Alliance Development and Marketing Team exists to boldly champion the missions of our partner agencies by building meaningful relationships, elevating our collective voice, and connecting resources to impact the lives of youth and families. We are front-facing, responsive, and collaborative—serving with integrity, creativity, and heart.

WHO WE ARE
The Gateway-Longview Foundation established in 1998, is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit supporting organization whose primary purpose is to solicit, collect and invest funds on behalf of Gateway-Longview Inc. to support the mission and programs. Since its inception, gifts to the Foundation have allowed for more than $34 million to directly benefit the mission to Protect, Enrich and Give Hope.

WHAT WE DO
The Gateway-Longview Foundation manages all agency investments, gifts in kind donations, cash donations, planned legacy giving, grant writing, fundraising events, marketing and public relations including agency website and social media.
​
The Gateway-Longview Foundation is compromised of the Foundation Team along with the Foundation Board of Directors.
​
Support for the agency’s needs is provided by the Foundations annual fundraising and giving events such as Adopt-An-Angel and annual appeals and generous donations from the community.
​
Our Team is constantly working to provide critically needed funding and supplies to the various program areas, to support department initiatives, to promote the agency overall and provide the public with an understanding of our services.

Legacy Makers
Lotta V. Minehan
Gateway Longview received a legacy gift 53 years in the making of more than $750,000 from a generous supporter named Lotta V. Minehan.
​
Throughout her life, Ms. Minehan, gave gifts to support the orphans served by the Methodist Home for Children, now known as Gateway Longview. Prior to passing in 1957, she named the Methodist Home as the sole beneficiary in her will. Her Estate included 131 acres of land in rural Pennsylvania, and in 2010 due to gas excavation in the region, the underground resources resulted in significant revenue for the children served by Gateway Longview.
Fifty-three years after becoming a church triumphant, Ms. Minehan's legacy lives on.
Joanne P. Thomas
Miss Thomas was a kind soul who cared for the less fortunate in the community. She was a faithful member of Central Park United Methodist Church in Buffalo, New York. Professionally, she served as a secretary at WIVB-TV, the Western New York CBS affiliate, for many years before retiring in 1989.
Her vocation and passion for people provided her with the opportunity to get involved in many different missions and charitable organizations, including Gateway Longview. In June 2011, Gateway Longview received a $125,000 bequest gift from Miss Thomas’ Estate.
Her generosity over the years provided critical support for the children in our care. Miss Thomas passed in February 2011, yet her kindness endures.

Evelyn Mae Mowitz
Ms. Mowitz' life’s work improved thousands of children's lives and now, even in death, her legacy of caring for disadvantaged children carries on at Gateway Longview. The native Western New Yorker generously donated a $50,000 bequest gift to support the children that rely on the charitable child and family service agency.
In 1932, after graduating from Boston University, the Town of Tonawanda native returned to her home region and began what would become an exemplary social work career at the Methodist Home for Children, located in Williamsville, New York. Her years of dedicated professional service at the Methodist Home held a special place in her heart throughout her life.
Ms. Mowitz outlined provisions in her trust that a bequest in the amount of $50,000 be given to Gateway Longview, the former Methodist Home for Children, at the time of her death.
In June 2010, at the age of 100, Ms. Mowitz entered eternal rest peacefully in her home in Ojai, California. Ms. Mowitz' family says she should be remembered for her passion for caring for children and dedication to helping the disadvantaged.

Whether you're able to give two hours during a one-time visit, or two hours once a month to spend time with youth in care, you can be sure that your time is invested well. So much of what volunteers accomplish at Gateway Longview would not be feasible without the donated time, passion, and commitment of our community.
