A weighted pressure vest, blanket or ball offers proprioceptive information to a child's muscles and joints. Proprioceptive input allows us to understand where our body is in relation to the external world. It is organizing to the brain and plays an important role in self-regulation, balance, coordination, posture, body awareness, eye-hand coordination, and the ability to attend and focus. Most children crave proprioceptive input!
