Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a five-day festival that usually falls in late October or November. The dates of Diwali are decided based on the lunar calendar. It is one of the most widely celebrated and important festivals in India. While celebrated by Hindus, Diwali is also celebrated by people of Jainism, Sikhism, and Buddhism religions. It has often compared to the popularity and importance of celebrating Christmas in Western countries. The five days that are celebrated each hold different meaning.
