BBQ & Blues Bash
Our annual BBQ & Blues Bash is a “summer kick-off” party with a purpose. The outdoor concert and barbecue food fest is held in Buffalo’s Cobblestone Historic District, near First Niagara Center. Proceeds benefit the children and families served by Gateway Longview. Attendees enjoy drinks and delicious & unique barbecue food sold by a variety of local restaurants. The street is closed to through traffic and tented, the event goes on rain or shine, and individuals must be age 21 or over to attend. Free & secure parking is available. This year’s BBQ & Blues will take place Friday, June 17, 2016. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Visit www.BBQBluesBash.com for more information.
Pumpkin Run 5K & Family Fun Walk
More than 400 people hit the pavement for Western New York’s premier Halloween-themed 5K run and family-fun walk last year, and it keeps growing every year! This year’s Pumpkin Run is Saturday, October 1, 2016. The Pumpkin Run is a USATF-certified 5K race that benefits the children and families of Gateway-Longview. The 5K race starts and ends on Spindrift Drive near Main Street in Williamsville (near the National Fuel/Tops complex parking lot). A fall-themed, family-friendly post-race party is held following the run on Gateway Longview’s Lynde School campus. It features prizes, food, free post-race massages, basket raffle, children’s entertainment, crafts, and much more! Participants of all ages are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes! Sponsorship opportunities are available. Visit www.BuffaloPumpkinRun.com for more information.
Our Adopt-An-Angel campaign provides Christmas presents to over 900 “Angels,” or children in our care ranging in age from infants to age 21. Many of these children are considered at-risk and come from disadvantaged families. Your support will help to make their Christmas merry. Gateway will provide the children’s “wish lists” with specific items they would like or need. The unwrapped gifts can be returned to Gateway’s “Angel Headquarters,” which will then be delivered to the children’s homes before Christmas. For more information, call (716) 783-3219.
