We are thrilled to announce that the 6th Annual Pumpkin Run 5K and Family-Fun Walk raised over $30,000 for the children and families of Gateway-Longview. Thank you to over 400 runners & walkers and more than 40 corporate sponsors and partners for making the event a huge success!

On Saturday, October 18, the USATF-certified race began in front of the Tops/National Fuel complex on Spindrift Drive at Main Street in Williamsville at 10:30 a.m. A fall-themed, family-friendly post-race party followed at Gateway-Longview’s Main Street campus in Williamsville. The party featured awards, a costume contest with prizes, free post-race massages from Dr. Christian Stack, DC, of Naturally Chiropractic in Williamsville as well as the D’Youville College Chiropractic Health Centers, food catered by Wegmans and Personal Touch Food Service, music, children’s entertainment, crafts, and much more. Participants of all ages wore Halloween costumes!

Bib-Chip timing was provided by ITS Buffalo Time, a local race timing company that offers ITS Jaguar(TM) Chip Timing Systems.

A new event this year was the Kids’ Pumpkin Dash, which started at 11:30 a.m. and featured a fun relay with prizes for kids 12 and under.

Participants of all ages took part in a costume contest held during the post-race party. Prizes were awarded to the top winner in each category and selected by celebrity judge, Billy Buffalo, the official mascot of the Buffalo Bills, and Carolyne DeFranco, President and CEO of Gateway-Longview.

The 6th Annual Pumpkin Run 5K Race & Family-Fun Walk was sponsored by the Buffalo Bills, JW Danforth Company, Amherst Security Professionals, Annese & Associates, Ellicott Development Company, First Niagara Foundation, McGuire Development Company, Personal Touch Food Service, Summer Street Capital, Thoman Asphalt, Walsh Duffield Companies, and University Psychiatric Practice. We would also like to thank the volunteers from First Niagara Bank who helped make the event run smoothly.
