It’s the most wonderful time of the year! All over the agency, our children and families are celebrating the joy of the Christmas season. Here are some of the highlights:
- Over 1,500 presents were collected and delivered to our needy children and families through our Adopt-an-Angel campaign. Thanks to the 70+ businesses, churches, community groups, and individuals for generously making Christmas brighter for our families! Also, we could not have done it without the amazing volunteers from Ingram Micro, YNPN Greater Buffalo Chapter, the United Way, and the Chapel at Crosspoint.
- The Lynde School gym was transformed into a winter wonderland for the annual Lynde School Holiday Program on December 19. Families joined us for a musical showcase of our talented students. After the performance, everyone enjoyed a catered, family-style meal. Thanks to the Lynde School Student Council for organizing the event and the volunteers from UB’s Student Affairs Department for setting up, serving our guests, and cleaning up. - Our Center for Youth Development held its holiday party at Chef’s Restaurant on December 10. The event recognizes the Center’s partnering agencies and acknowledges our youth in SILP and YES/IL for their accomplishments over the past year. For photos, visit our Facebook page here.
- The Cottage Meet & Greet is an annual Christmas tradition where members of local Methodist churches come to campus to visit our residential youth and spread holiday cheer. They bring homemade Christmas cookies (yum!), sing carols, and enjoy arts & crafts activities. Thank you to Elma United, Christ United, Faith United, Hope United, and Metropolitan United Methodist Church for bringing Christmas cheer and traditions to our youth!
