Working together to protect, enrich, and give hope

Every Child Program Launched to Help Children In Need

Did you know that close to 900 children are in foster care in Erie County? There is a critical need for foster parents in Western New York and Gateway-Longview is grateful to have been identified as the primary partner working closely alongside The Chapel at CrossPoint in the development of the Every Child Ministry. Kenmore Alliance and CenterPointe Community Church have also joined this initiative.

Launched on Father’s Day in 2012 as part of the foster care, adoption, and orphan care church ministry in Western New York, Every Child is a collaborative effort to care for every child in need within reach, both locally and globally. The program strives to encourage local Christians to:

  • Become certified foster parents
  • Adopt through foster care or private means
  • Provide a support network of volunteers for families who have welcomed foster or adopted children into their homes
  • Offer various forms of support from one family to another, such as emotional support, meals, respite care, and material and financial support

Also, the program can offer certified individuals or available families within the Church to assist those in need of respite care or a babysitter, transportation to various appointments, tutoring services for a child in care, and meals for families during a transition period.

Ultimately, this ministry hopes to serve as a model so that additional churches in Western New York will become involved with this program, and will be committed to caring for every child in need with Gateway-Longview.
