The Casey Life Skills Assessment is a reliable and proven assessment of youth and adult independent living skills. The assessment involves parents and families, and allows humans service professional to objectively evaluate individuals’ independent living skills and assist them in mastering nine life-skill domains.
The assessment measures independent living skills in the following areas: communication, daily living, work/study skills, home life, self care, social relationship, housing and money management, career planning and work life. The Casey evaluation involves guardian or worker participation by completing assessments about the youth or adult as well as personal completion of responses from the individual. The result is a customized learning plan that improves outcomes for these participants.
The learning plan identifies activities and life skills and creates exercises that can be used to strengthen and improve independent living skills for the individual.
