Dear Friends and Supporters, Have you ever considered what type of legacy you want to leave? Who do you want to help? How do you want to make a difference?
If the answer is improving the lives of countless children and families, then we hope you will consider joining the Gateway-Longview Legacy Society and becoming a Legacy Maker.
Those are individuals who designate Gateway-Longview as their charity of choice in their will, trust, or bequest. These planned gifts ensure that hundreds of deserving children and families will continue to receive the care, counseling and support they desperately need.
Planned gifts come in many forms, but they always indicate that the donor was forward thinking. We asked a few Legacy Makers to explain why they decided to join this special group. This is what they said.
“Gateway-Longview creates programs that children and youth really need. I was quite impressed with the residential program, where youth are provided support. I couldn’t give a great deal, but I knew that Gateway-Longview needed to take care of these children. I want to make sure they are taken care of, after I am gone. Who else could do the job they do? Gateway-Longview can help these children and families.”

Gateway-Longview Legacy Maker since 1998

Supervised Independent Living Program
Twenty-year-old Naomi P. recently recognized that she lacked some of the necessary skills to live as an independent, young woman. She had learned a lot from her maternal grandmother, who she had lived with since she was twelve-years-old, but she realized she needed some additional support and guidance. So, Naomi voluntarily entered Gateway-Longview’s Supervised Independent Living Program, also known as SILP. The counselors not only became part of her extended family, but began to fill her with the hope and courage she needed to achieve her goals and dreams.
After only a few months in the SIL ... Click to read more
