Back-to-School Backpack Drive

It's that time of year again! Soon the sounds of school bells will be ringing and children will be getting ready to hit the books! That means Gateway-Longview is gearing up for the annual Back-to-School Backpack Drive. This drive prepares our students enrolled in the Gateway-Longview Therapeutic Preschool, Sacred Heart Elementary School and the Lynde Day School with the supplies they need to have a successful school year.

Many of our students come to school with very little, and for various reasons, are not able to get the supplies they need to excel in the classroom. These donated, new backpacks enable the children to meet and exceed today's educational standards. Last year, over 125 backpacks filled with supplies were donated to help the children in our schools. This year, we are hoping to more than double that amount. Our goal is to provide filled backpacks to 270 children. Please join us as we strive to give the children in our schools the best educational opportunities possible.

On the next page, is a suggested list of supplies that we are hoping to outfit the students with in the beginning of the school year. Please drop off filled backpacks by August 15, 2007, at our corporate headquarters located at 605 Niagara Street in Buffalo, N.Y.
