Planned gifts are the most effective way to support Gateway-Longview.The benefits of thoughtful estate planning go beyond the peace of mind it gives you.
Preparing a Will, Trust or Estate plan guarantees the accurate distribution of the assets you've accumulated over a lifetime. Won't you become a Legacy Maker and join our Legacy Society by naming the Gateway Longview Foundation as your charity of choice in your Will, Trust or Estate?
Please consider the following options when making a planned gift:
Traditional Planned Gifts
Make a simple bequest decree through a will or trust for Gateway Longview Foundation. This can be a gift of cash, stocks or other assets.
or
Name the Gateway Longview Foundation as a primary or secondary beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement plan.
or
Help to minimize capital gains and taxes by donating a gift of stock.
Income Generating Planned Gifts
A charitable gift annuity serves as a contract between you and Gateway Longview Foundation, in which we pay you a fixed dollar amount each year in return for your gift of cash or securities. These income generating gifts are highly flexible and can be customized to meet a wide variety of personal and financial needs. The benefits of charitable gift annuities include guaranteed income for life, income tax savings, possible savings on capital gain taxes, a greater return on your dollars than what is currently available to you, and the satisfaction of knowing that your gift will ultimately benefit the children and families served by Gateway-Longview.
Other income generating options include:
Charitable Remainder Trusts & Charitable Lead Trusts
With a charitable remainder trust, you would transfer assets to Gateway Longview Foundation. The Foundation would invest the assets and distribute income to you, or another beneficiary, for the remainder of your lifetime. This option also affords the donor numerous tax benefits.
Charitable lead trusts are for donors who wish to support Gateway-Longview and pass substantial assets on to their heirs. With a charitable lead trust, you would transfer assets to Gateway Longview Foundation and provide that payments be made to support the agency for a certain number of years. After the trust's termination, the principal would be distributed to your heirs at greatly reduced gift and estate tax rates. |
